New Year

I had such an AMAZING year!! Pushed myself hard, learned many lessons and made more friends. I never really make New Years Resolutions EVER but I will this year.
My one resolution will be to completely let go of any negative people, thoughts or energy being sent my way. I will love people for who they are and be good to them no matter what. I am strong but this year I'll be stronger. That sappy bullshit aside onto my New Year "To do" list. This I make every year.

Snow storms and henna

Lastnight I went stir crazy and found some 5 year old henna in a shoebox in my closet. I'm fairly impressed with my design.
This morning I woke up to a shit load of snow.
My ear hurts from the cold. Left one to be exact. I just came from walking my 12 year old over weight pitbull and found out they don't shovel pathways at my condo. I could barely open the front door to get out and once I did my dog was face deep in snow. All I could see was his giant head and seal like torso trying to maneuver his way towards the street. He stopped a few times and looked back at me with eye's that read "Are you fucking kidding me?" I felt so bad for the old guy. He must have been freezing surrounded by that snow. I have a new found respect for people who climb snowy mountains, not just for the height factor but for the fact that they sleep in this snowy shit. Hats Off!

It's today that I appreciate having a garage but the problem still lies in the pile of snow shifted from the plow piled up against my garage door.
I need a shovel..cuz I have a whole lot of henna left over and if I don't get out of this house soon I'm going to look like an Indian Kat Von D.
Happy shoveling people!!

Untitled

Can't you see this pageant just can't be
Much like the stories of long ago
People change and nothing remains the same
It doesn't seem sad once you know

Our reprise once twisted in lies
The water ran deep within our souls
You might as well make peace, revel in defeat
It's all you have once they go

There you are..eye's upon my scars
And I just need you to know
What you can't see doesn't mean that it can't be
I wish you understood what I know

Time moves on theres so much to be done
Only the strong stand on their own
As you waste the day paying trouble to ease the pain
I do cartwheels down the road

It's not that I'm dark and spend the time
Enjoying the fret that caused your heart cold
I just concede the warning I thought you'd read
But love is blind and can't feel ghosts souls

Point the finger
Place the blame
Leave behind
What you can't change

Same book
Different chapter
Let's all claim
Just what we're after

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Christmas Day is here and I'm on a mad rush around town.  The most important thing in my mind is getting back home to my puppy (he's not a puppy anymore...more like an old fart).
Last nights dinner was amazing!  I got to see my cousins Sara and Alexander from Portugal who I haven't seen in years.  Last time I saw them was when I worked at Crobar in Nyc a few years back.  They ripped it up on the dance floor.  Since then they added a little girl to their family named Alexandra.  I sat with her and her big brother Lukas coloring at the dinner table.  They barely spoke any English and I just could understand a little Portuguese so our way of communicating was purely through color...the little mermaid to be specific.  I made one boo boo lastnight though when shopping for both of them and I made the mistake of thinking they two boys.  I bought them both boy presents DOPE!  LOL I'm sure Lukas won't be too upset about that.
Now enough blogging...I need to rush home to the love of my life before he pee's on my carpet again.
Merry Christmas

Christmas Eve 2010

So in my typical fashion of having to do a million things I decided last night that I would have an online blog/diary to add to the list. If for anything I want it to be a record of my life. I was never one to journal and I've just begun to feel the itch. I find my life is rather humorous so why not share it with the world.
I just woke up about an hour ago and I'm still sore from my show at The Loft. I don't know why I wake up so sore but I always do. I mean I move around a lot but not that much LOL.
Last night was a great show. A lot of the kids must be on break from school but oddly the crowd was filled with a majority of trendy twenty something year old men. This is Fairfield county and all these guys looked very Williamsburg Brooklyn to me...Handsome men wearing geek glasses and seventies porn mustaches. Love it!
Shows are always so interesting to me from a people watching stand point. I mean I'm up there rocking out and having fun but I'm totally so into the crowd and whats going on. Some nights everyone is dancing along, other nights people are singing along and then we have nights where people are literally just standing in one place facing the stage like they are in auditorium seating. It's all good though as long as everyone is having a good time.
Ahh it's Christmas eve and tonight I will be spending it with family at a restaurant. Restaurants seem like they'll be a safe haven for most families to contain the drama for risk of other people seeing but not mine LOL. "Family time" for my family is always a group therapy session. Lets just leave it at the holidays are always interesting for our clan. I figure if I start blogging about all the shit that goes on maybe people will start behaving themselves.
Oh well it's the holidays people...I'm excited..let's do this!!
Much love,
Laura Merrill
